Those more at risk might include:

Previous trials have shown that a below-knee sock is far more likely to be worn correctly as compared to an above-knee sock, and is as clinically effective as an above-knee product. Graduated compression socks worn incorrectly are possibly clinically detrimental.

Evexar Medical™ socks are manufactured in four sizes to fit almost all patients. Evexar Medical™ sock sizing is based upon one simple ankle measurement only, which takes far less nursing staff time than is usual.

The open-toe sock design allows access for the assessment of foot pulses and capillary filling time in the skin of the toes. The heel design allows more accurate foot and ankle positioning and hence, accurate graduated compression.

The blue colour of the sock is far less “clinical” than white. This is much preferred by patients, based on recent questionnaires.

Effective graduated compression, often combined with blood thinning medications, does aid significantly in the prevention of DVT. All hospitals have a policy for providing such protection: please ensure that you are included.
